High Vacuum - KF / ISO-K Clamp
The KF (Klein Flansch - small flange) and ISO-K (derived from KF) clamp system is a widely used method for creating vacuum connections in high vacuum applications, typically reaching pressures in the 10^-7 to 10^-8 Torr range.
Advantages of KF/ISO-K for High Vacuum:
- Ease of Use: The KF/ISO-K system is known for its quick assembly and disassembly without requiring complex tools, making it ideal for frequent connections and disconnections.
- Cost-Effective: With their simpler design, KF/ISO-K components are generally less expensive.
- Relatively Leak-Tight: With proper assembly and good quality O-rings, the KF/ISO-K system can achieve the high vacuum levels needed for many applications.
